English: Literature Concentration

No new students may elect the A.A. English: Literature concentration as of July 1, 2017. Currently enrolled students are encouraged to contact their academic advisor to plan how to complete their A.A. degree.

Overview

The English: Literature concentration is for students who plan to transfer as a junior to a bachelor's degree program.

Students who are matriculated and place into developmental math and/or English are required to begin the course sequence in the first semester. Please see an advisor with questions.

Humanities: Perception through the Arts

COM205 Oral Interpretation/Readers Theater

A performance course involving the analysis and aesthetic appreciation of literature (lyric, narrative, and drama) through the medium of oral interpretation. This course incorporates techniques for control of self (body and voice), control of the literary object, control of the audience, and critique of solo and group performances. Rehearsals outside of class time may be required; please see instructor.

Prerequisite: COM103 or ENL101 or THR103

HUM102 Humanities: Perception through the Arts

This course is an introduction to humanistic studies; it examines works of the human spirit (in music, painting, philosophy, sculpture, architecture, drama, poetry) which have influenced our civilization and who we are as individuals.

Prerequisite: ENL101

Note: Satisfies a Humanities and Fine Arts general education requirement.
