How to Apply
Three Easy Steps to Enroll in a Degree or Certificate Program
As you begin the application process, help is available every step of the way.
1 Submit a completed application form to the Admissions Office by the priority filing dates of:
- August 15 for the Fall semester
- January 10 for the Spring semester
2 Submit official high school transcripts/HiSET/GED diploma only if you:
- Are a current high school senior, or
- Have not yet completed your HiSET coursework or examinations at the time you submit your application, or
- Are an applicant to a selective health program (Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Technician, Medical Assisting, and Paramedic), or
- Are an international applicant requiring an F-1 student visa
3 Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities ever attended.
And Then …
Basic Skills Assessment
In order to start your college experience on a solid foundation, appropriate skill levels are needed for any program of study. While Cape Cod Community College has an open admission policy, you need to show that you have the skills to succeed in college-level classes. Skills assessments are administered in English, reading, and mathematics.
Matriculated students are required to take these skills assessments prior to their first semester of classes, unless prior college credit has been evaluated. Non-matriculated students who wish to enroll in courses that have prerequisites are required to take the skills assessment test before registering for the class.
For students who demonstrate a need in English, reading, and/or mathematics, we provided appropriate developmental courses and experiences.

Tuition and Financial Aid
Visit Financial Information to learn about tuition, payment due dates, and financial aid options. We encourage every student to look into financial aid opportunities – many students are eligible for some type of aid.
Academic Advising
As a new student, you will meet with an advisor before registering for classes. Your advisor will work with you to select your courses based upon your placement test scores and prior college coursework, and make sure you have the appropriate pre-requisites for each class.
Registration
Once you have met with an advisor and been approved for classes, you will visit the Registration Office to sign up for your courses. Registration opens several weeks before the start of a semester. Returning students may register by e-mail, mail, FAX, in person, or online.
Matriculated
Once you are admitted into a specific degree or certificate program, and you are registered for one or more credit classes, you are a matriculated student. If you are taking credit courses but are not yet enrolled into a specific program, you are non-matriculated.
