Special Enrollment Options

Commonwealth Commitment – a Transfer Option
The Commonwealth Commitment is a partnership between the 28 undergraduate colleges and universities in the Massachusetts system of public higher education. New students entering a Massachusetts Community College and transferring to a Massachusetts State University or UMass campus may be eligible for a 10% rebate off tuition and mandatory fees.

The offer is limited to specific majors and there are performance and completion requirements. Students must register early in their first semester.

High School Students Taking College Courses – Dual Enrollment Program
Want to get a head-start on college? If you are a high school student you may be eligible to participate in our Dual Enrollment Program which offers qualified high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while attending high school.

International Applicants
We welcome students from countries outside the U.S. Additional documentation, criteria, and deadlines apply to international applicants seeking an I-20 form for an F-1 visa.

SACHEM (Southern Association for Cooperation in Higher Education in Massachusetts)
Cape Cod Community College is a participating member of the SACHEM, a consortium of nine institutions of higher education in Southeastern Massachusetts. As a member of this group, eligible full-time students at 4Cs, have an opportunity to enroll in a limited number of courses at other colleges/universities involved in the SACHEM program.

Secondary Post-Secondary Career Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) Linkage Consortium and College Readiness
The goal of the CVTE Program is to improve college readiness for students. Participating schools work with the college to provide early assessments of students’ skills and strategies for improvement – including the offering of courses for college credit. The program of study is delivered at the high school with high school faculty.

Fresh Start Option
The Fresh Start Option permits a fresh start to a student who has not been enrolled at the College for at least one year and has re-enrolled on probation, has a grade point average below 2.0, or has been academically dismissed. A student may exercise the Fresh Start Option only once.

Veterans
It is our privilege to assist veterans in taking advantage of the numerous educational opportunities available through the GI Bill® and other programs. The Veterans Center is located on the 2nd floor of the Wilkens Library, Room 201.

Transfer of Military Credits
The VALOR Act Academic Credit Evaluation Policy

In accordance with the Valor Act, Cape Cod Community College uses the ACE guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experience in the Armed Services as the primary method for evaluating and awarding academic credit for military occupation, training, coursework, and experience. In addition, the College also evaluates CLEP, DANTES Subject Standard Test, and prior learning assessment.
